Our Next Adventure: Sardu, Romania

Just when you thought that The Malkos had been on enough adventures for one year we surprise you with another.

On 16th November we will be visiting Elim Missionaries Bob and Edith MacDonald in Sardu, Romania. We will be in Romania for five days accompanied by my parents, Liz and Vee Malko. We wanted to see first hand and support the great work that Bob and Edith are doing as they have been close family friends since Bob pastored Bradford Elim Church.

They have asked us to take across some items for the work and the children that they work with. These are:
  1. Warm winter clothes for children aged 3-7
  2. Children's shoes - especially for the younger ages
  3. Any Children's crafts - paints, brushes, colouring books, stickers etc.
  4. Primary age learning books - literature is fine if there isn't too much English. E.g. Learning to count.
If you have any of these items or want to support us in our searches around the second hand shops please email me at kieran.malko@gmail.com or come speak to us directly.

Our Friends Ed and Liz

We have returned from a lovely time in Cornwall with our friends Ed and Liz Brewer.

Ed and Liz moved from Derby to Penzance in January to help plant a church and this is the first time we have been able to visit. It also happens to be our first trip to Cornwall and we found it to be beautiful. We were able to attend the launch service at Discovery Church, Penzance and were greatly encouraged by what is happening through that group of people. We also had the opportunity to sample Liz's delicious baking.

What's Going On?

I thought I'd put a little update here as it's been a while.

We have returned from Honduras. In fact we've been back for about 6 weeks now. Time does indeed fly. You can find more info about what happened and photos at Huddersfield to Honduras or the Facebook Page. We had an amazing time, learned loads and made some lifelong friends.

After the three month mission we have crash landed back in Huddersfield, and we are currently looking for the right jobs and home for the next stage in our lives. We are really excited about church and it has been great to spend time with friends and family after so long away. We are confident that we are where God wants us to be, but we are hoping that the details fall into place quickly.

For now, it's back to the applications...
